Your job in one sentence.
My team and I look after around 600 employees, trainees and temporary staff, are available for all employee matters and take care of the entire employee life cycle from onboarding to offboarding. I am responsible for developing and refining various strategies for recruitment, staff retention, staff development, etc. and oversee all initiatives, systems and strategies with a view to the future.
How and when did you join the Estrel?
I started training as a hotel specialist at the Estrel in 2014. After completing my training, I worked as a front office agent at the reception desk from 2017 to 2018 and then moved to the Employee Service Center in 2018.
What is your typical working day like?
My working day is naturally very “office-heavy”. I like to start my working day very early in the morning and begin by processing my emails. Then there is usually coordination with the team/other departments, processing projects, appraisal interviews, various meetings, etc.
What do you find particularly exciting about your job?
The daily interaction with a wide variety of employees and the constant new challenges. I also have the opportunity to try out and implement lots of new things in order to keep developing the company from an HR perspective and to keep increasing employee satisfaction. In my opinion, these great freedoms and short decision-making paths are what make the Estrel so special, especially compared to a hotel chain. We are often the “pioneer” in the hotel scene and that makes my job with its many different possibilities very exciting.
Where is your favorite place at the Estrel?
There are many... The greenhouse on the roof, our new auditorium, the two convention halls, the communal kitchen in our staff apartment... I couldn't decide on the spur of the moment.
If you're not at the Estrel, you'll probably be found in the following place...
Definitely outside with my horse in Brandenburg, where I can switch off perfectly.
