Meeting safely amidst the Pandemic
Whether it be a real estate congress, a trade show for lab technology, political convention or even an international sporting event, the Estrel has already adapted to accommodate over a thousand guests from all over the world for face-to-face events while also ensuring the responsible adherence to the most stringent health guidelines. Personal encounters cannot come at the cost of participants' safety.
In the current crisis, the Estrel Berlin has impressively demonstrated how this can be achieved. Europe's largest hotel, congress and entertainment center has, as many others, been hit by the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis. In response to the crisis, a comprehensive hygiene and safety concept was developed, which adeptly makes use of the Estrel's size and adaptability. This includes biometric fever screening of guests entering the hotel or congress area, contactless doors, air conditioning systems ensuring 100% fresh air supply in all conference rooms, and the digital tracing of potential viral chains of contagion in compliance with data protection laws. Above all, however, the Estrel Congress Center (ECC) boasts over 25,000 sqm of event space in addition to spacious outdoor areas and flexible room plans, enabling a strategic use of space which ensures that social distancing rules can be optimally implemented. On top of that, the Estrel Congress Center (ECC) is currently being expanded by another 5,000 sqm, so that even more space will be available for safe meetings in 2021.
In addition to the spatial capacities, our well-equipped event technology department can offer digital accompaniment for any events, enabling a collaboration between face-to-face and remote participants. In addition, everything an event and its participants may need can be found under one roof at the Estrel, reducing the risk of external infection. The ECC is directly connected to the hotel and restaurant area as well as the Estrel's own show theatre, whose safety and hygiene concept has even been recognized by the Berlin Health Department as “outstanding” and “exemplary for other venues".
